EMPLOYERS
Training Services:
From September 2012 Nexus will offer a range of part-time and day-release courses for people employed by engineering companies who wish to enhance their skills and qualifications. Nexus can also offer bespoke courses designed to meet the specific needs of employers and their staff. Nexus will also offer competency training to meet local industry requirements.
Alongside these services, Nexus will also offer access to Hobbyists and support to entrepreneurs for product design and development.
Access to Specialist Equipment:
Nexus will house a Direct Digital Manufacturing Centre (DDMC) providing advanced engineering support to local companies, through engineering services, rapid prototyping and prototype manufacture. The DDMC will cover sourcing of digital data from 3D CAD or laser scanning, direct output to RP processes and indirect (via CAM) to CNC machines, including automation in the form of robot loading, and vacuum casting. The DDMC can be used in the production of prototypes, small batch production and integrated manufacturing.
