Why build a new training and resource centre in Great Yarmouth?
Great Yarmouth has over 400 companies involved in the Energy and Advanced Manufacturing Industry. It is an incredibly rich and diverse area which will continue to show strong growth for skilled jobs both nationally and internationally.
The Centre will be located at Beacon Park, this is a premier business location in Norfolk and also falls within the recently announced Enterprise Zone.
“The government has paved the way for hundreds of jobs to be created in some of the most deprived parts of the region by giving the green light to an enterprise zone which will kick start a boom in the energy sector.” EDP 13/9/11
“The New Anglia Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) aims to provide up to 2000 jobs and attract 80 businesses by 2015 and 13,500 jobs and 200 businesses in the 25 year lifetime of the zone. It is designed to capitalise on the region’s leading position in the energy sector” EDP 13/9/11
Nexus will work with the local schools, collleges and partners to work to reduce the significant amount of young people who are at risk of becoming NEET.
Nexus will enable experiential learning on high quality industrial equipment.
